The NOTA Farmer’s Market is closing down permanently with its final day scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 28th. The last market will be held on the grounds of Asbury First Methodist Church, situated at the intersection of East Ave and Granger Place.

Market manager, Chad Flint told the Democrat Chronicle that this season kicked off on a high note on June 19th with two food trucks, a diverse range of two dozen vendors, and an impressive turnout of over 200 attendees. However, the following week saw the market’s cancellation due to inclement weather, which killed the momentum and the attendance never managed to regain its previous strength.

Flint, who started the market back in 2021, shared that his motivation stemmed from the fact that there was always a lot of pedestrian activity in the Neighborhood of the Arts and felt that a farmers market would be idea for the location.

Throughout this year, the market consistently boasted a roster of over two dozen vendors, reaching as high as 31 at its peak. Regrettably, due to a decline in attendance, a majority of these vendors have made the decision to depart.
