Backyard Growers, a nonprofit that provides gardening education, is partnering with the city of Gloucester to launch a new farmers market in June 2024 at Burnham’s Field downtown.
This comes after the previous Cape Ann Farmers Market failed to take hold in 2022. Backyard Growers actually began as an offshoot of the Cape Ann Farmers Market in 2010. The city approached Backyard Growers about leading the new market after the Cape Ann Farmers Market organizers declined to continue holding a market in 2023.
The market day, exact location, vendors, and name are still being determined. It will likely be an afternoon/evening market.
