Arakansas Depart Of Agriculture Farmers Markets Program

March 14, 2024 by FarmersMarketsUSA.com Staff

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture has teamed up with the Farm Credit Associations of Arkansas for the 9th year in a row to promote farmers markets in the state. This collaborative program, spearheaded by the Department and financially backed by the Farm Credit Associations, aims to raise awareness about farmers markets and their vendors.

As consumer demand for locally grown and produced goods continues to rise, the program provides funding assistance to farmers markets across Arkansas, enabling them to better serve their communities.

Through the Farmers Market Promotion Program, funds can be allocated for various promotional initiatives to boost community and regional awareness of specific farmers markets. This includes signage displaying essential information such as market names, operating seasons, hours, and locations. Additionally, the program facilitates traditional local advertising and social media campaigns.

In 2023, the Department, through its partnership with the Farm Credit Associations of Arkansas, awarded over $9,000 in grants to 25 farmers markets across the state.

The application process for this funding opportunity remains open until all available funds have been allocated. Interested parties can access the application and further information at the Arkansas Dept Of Agriculture.
