The weekly Farmers Market at Union Plaza in San Francisco will be moved across the street to a parking lot and the space will be used to build a Skate board park and Pickle Ball court.

In recent years, The United Nations Plaza has come to be a gathering place for the homeless but the Weekly Farmers market has helped to attract regular shoppers to the area.

According to CBS Local, the farmers who participate in the market are unhappy about being moved. The proposed new location across the street won’t allow them to have as much space for their vendor tents and trucks. Some farmers and customers feel that the city is avoiding dealing with the actual problems and just trying to find an easy solution by moving the farmers.

The market at United Nations Plaza is operated by the Heart Of The City farmers market.
