Union Market in Washington DC is now the home of a year-round farmers market. The market kicked off on September 17th and is organized by FRESHFARM, a local nonprofit known for managing multiple markets in the D.C. region.
The market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays and will feature more than a dozen local farmers and vendors offering fresh produce, meats, baked goods, prepared foods, coffee, tea, and flowers. Notably, there won’t be a compost drop-off station initially.
FRESHFARM’s goal is to expand its seasonal markets into year-round operations to ensure consistent food access throughout the year. The DCist has a list of Vendors that will be part of the market.
